While listening to old favorites is great and all, sometimes you just want to shake things up and stream something new. The only problem is that finding new music, podcasts, or artists you like can, at times, feel like finding a needle in a haystack. If you feel you’re in a rut, YouTube Music has something new that could make discovery a little easier. Ask Music is also getting a couple of new features.
First things first, YouTube Music is introducing a feature called “your podcast lineup.” As the company explains, this feature is an AI-audio guide that will give you a brief spoken preview of recommended shows. It will also give reasons as to why you might like those recommended podcasts. In addition to users of the music streaming app, this feature will also be available to YouTube Premium subscribers.
Ask Music has been available in the YouTube Music app for a couple of years now. The AI tool allows you to curate a playlist based on prompts. This tool is now getting an update that will bring some new capabilities. You’ll now be able to use Ask Music to customize your queue or learn more about an artist.
These updates aren’t available quite yet, but YouTube says they’ll be available soon worldwide. Similar to your podcast lineup, Ask Music’s new features will also be available for YouTube Premium subscribers.
