Steam Makes Four Games Free to Play Through September 21, Including Diablo 4 and Sea of Thieves

Steam’s Free Weekend offer will make four co-op and multiplayer games available for free from 10 am PT / 1 pm ET until September 21. The games in the lineup are Diablo 4, Sea of Thieves, Last Flag, and Jump Space. During Free Weekend players gain full access to the games for a limited period, the access ending when the offer expires.

Additionally, each game has a discount for those who wish to keep it after the promotion concludes. It should be noted that this is different from Steam’s Free-to-Keep promotions, under which players keep a game permanently if they claim it by the deadline.

Steam Free Weekend Games, Discounts, and End Time

Four games are free to play until September 21:

  • Diablo 4, an action RPG with an open world developed by Blizzard, has a 73% Mostly Positive rating on Steam and is currently discounted by 75% until 24th September, dropping in price from $49.99 to $12.49.
  • Sea of Thieves, an action adventure sandbox developed by Rare, has an 88% Very Positive rating and is currently discounted by 65% until 27th September, dropping in price from $39.99 to $13.99.
  • Last Flag, the PvP hero shooter developed by Night Street Games, has a 73% Mostly Positive rating and is still priced at $4.99 with no further discount.
  • Jump Space, a co-operative, PvE sci-fi game for four players developed by Keepsake Games, has an 87% Very Positive rating and is currently on sale at a 40% discount until September 24, the price dropping from $19.99 to $11.99.

During Steam’s Free Weekend event, full access to the games is provided for a limited period, the access ending at the expiration time. There is generally a discount available for those who wish to continue playing after the weekend.

This is unlike Steam’s Free-to-Keep promotions, which let players download and retain a game indefinitely as long as they claim it by a certain date. With the current Free Weekend games, players should play them as soon as possible before their access expires.

The four games will be available free of charge until 10 am PT / 1 pm ET on September 21, after which access will cease. Those who wish to play them afterwards can purchase each game at its stated discount, the discount periods ending on either September 24 or 27 depending on the specific title.

Most of the games cannot be fully completed during the free weekend, although Jump Space and the multiplayer titles can still provide a good amount of content in that time.
