Motorola’s latest Signature 27 teaser settles one major question

In a new post on X, Motorola says there’s “more to discover” with Motorola and Snapdragon, inviting followers to “see for yourself” on September 22. The accompanying teaser again flashes the Signature 27 branding, along with a close-up of a large rear camera lens. More importantly, the Snapdragon name removes one major question from the equation: Barring a major curveball, the Signature 27 will use a Qualcomm chip.

The timing makes this even more interesting. September 22 is also the opening day of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, where the chipmaker is expected to unveil its next-generation flagship mobile silicon. Qualcomm has already teased big CPU, GPU, and NPU upgrades, including a stronger focus on running agentic AI workloads directly on-device.

That naturally raises the possibility that the Signature 27 could be among the first phones tied to Qualcomm’s next flagship Snapdragon platform. The original Motorola Signature runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a high-end chip that sits below Qualcomm’s Elite tier. A true follow-up would therefore be a natural candidate for the next-generation Snapdragon 8 family, likely carrying Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 branding in some form.

For now, though, Motorola has only confirmed the Snapdragon partnership, not the exact processor. We also still don’t have firm US availability, despite the earlier teaser appearing on Motorola’s US site. But with the reveal now just days away, we shouldn’t have to speculate for much longer.
